Ronsford Beaton will miss the 2018 edition of the Caribbean Premier League as he continues to work on his action, Trinbago Knight Riders announced on Monday (July 16). USA pacer Ali khan, who has played three List A matches and one T20, will replace Beaton.
Beaton was reported for suspect bowling action in the second ODI against New Zealand in Christchurch in December last year. He has played two ODIs and has one wicket to show for.
Ali has the experience of playing in the CPL. He represented Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2016 and in his debut game dismissed Kumar Sangakkara off his first delivery.
“Ali Khan has shown that he is a rapidly improving bowler of real potential and we are excited about him joining TKR for the 2018 tournament. We are sure he will be a real asset,” team director Venky Mysore said.
The Knight Riders have already lost the services of Shadab Khan, who isn’t available for the tournament. Fawad Ahmed will replace the Pakistan leg-spinner as Knight Riders start their title defence in the opening game against St. Lucia Stars on August 8.
