Inclement weather affecting matches in some RMAs
Four matches were played last weekend in the GFF-NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National U17 Tournament in two Regional Member Associations (RMAs), that is, the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) and the Berbice Football Association (BerFA).
In the UDFA, action was held at the Wisburg Ground and saw Amelia’s Ward FC and Eagles FC tied on a 2 all draw while Milerock FC defeated Netrockers FC by a 7 – 0 margin with a hat-trick scored by Tyrese Lewis. Action in the Ber FA saw Corriverton Links FC defeating Young Strikers FC by 5 – 1 at Burnham Park and Mondderlust FC got the better of Hopetown United FC by a 3 – 0 margin at the # 5 Ground.
The other 11 matches scheduled for the weekend of the 1st – 2nd July were cancelled due to the inclement weather.
This is the third week of play in the second half of the national Thunderbolt Flour Power IntraAssociation U17 tournament with the majority of games in the following RMAs – UDFA, Ber FA, Essequibo-Pomeroon FA and one weekend’s play in the West Demerara FA. Play in the other five RMAs have been affected by the inclement weather.
The nation-wide GFF-NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Intra-Association U-17 Tournament, is a five (5)-year partnership between the GFF and the National Milling Company and is a key component of the Executive Committee’s strategic objective in its youth development thrust.
