Antigua & Barbuda ease past Guyana 3-0

ANTIGUA and Barbuda’s ‘Benna Boys’ proved too strong for their Guyanese U-17 counterparts when the two teams met yesterday in their final Group Four game of the Caribbean Football Union’s (CFU) Preliminary competition played in St Thomas, USVI.The 3-0 victory by the Antiguans ended Guyana’s hope of advancing while it increased their goal difference to a handsome +5 and put them in a good position to advance to the next round, as the best second-placed team among the groups. The only defeat for the ‘Benna Boys’ was against top team Jamaica who ended with a perfect record.
It was the second loss for the young Golden Jaguars whose sole win was against the home team to avoid finishing at the bottom of the group. The team is expected back home tomorrow.
